Your first call,
in context.
Accenno 0.3.0 is a free friend-test release for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. It includes its local runtime. Node, Homebrew and developer tools are not required.
Install Accenno
- Download and open the DMG.
- Drag Accenno into Applications.
- Eject the disk image, then open Accenno from Applications.
This release is not Developer ID signed or notarized. If macOS blocks opening, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and use Open Anyway for Accenno if you choose to trust this test build. Follow Apple’s first-open instructions. Do not turn off Gatekeeper or other system-wide protections.
Connect your model
Open Settings → Intelligence and enter your own supported provider credentials. The app is free for now; model-provider usage may have its own cost. Never put an API key in a project document or feedback file. Codex integration is optional and requires your own working Codex installation and login.
Set up audio
Open Settings → Meetings. Choose your input microphone and allow microphone, speech recognition and screen/system-audio access. Use the silent microphone check. If macOS asks to quit and reopen after a permission change, do so. Your Mac needs the speech language used by the meeting.
Headphones can reduce speaker audio entering your microphone. With Mac speakers, include overlapping speech in your test and report what appears in each transcript channel.
Prepare a project
Download the setup prompt. Give this one prompt to your assistant with your project notes or repository. Paste the four returned fields into Accenno: Name, Description, Your role and Answer preferences.
Then open Knowledge and attach documents, add a note, connect a folder or connect Codex. No local repository? Give the prompt a few notes about your project. Your assistant can produce a short note for you to attach in Knowledge.
Try a meeting
When a meeting is detected, Accenno offers a reminder. Choose Start meeting when ready. Detection does not start capture automatically. You can also start manually. Pick the correct project and check your recording settings.
Read the single answer, switch to Transcript or Recap, ask a question and try the show/hide shortcut. After the meeting, inspect its summary, recording with transcript, and saved assistant history. Recording playback starts muted.
Window shortcuts
- Command-Backslash: show or hide the assistant.
- Command-Shift-I: toggle click-through.
- Command-Q: hide the workspace while Accenno keeps running.
- Command-Option-Q: quit Accenno.
Check the app’s Shortcuts menu for the full list and any unavailable shortcut. Capture hiding is tool-dependent. Verify your sharing preview before sharing sensitive information. Follow the recording rules that apply to your meeting.
Send useful feedback
When reporting a problem, Include your Mac/macOS, microphone, meeting app, expected behavior and reproduction steps. Share only material you are allowed to share. Remove API keys, private work and personal information.
